TH Group operating Van Ho Factory for processing fresh fruit and pharmaceutical products – Son La

On September 20, 2020, in Van Ho district (Son La province), TH Group coordinated with the People’s Committee of Son La province to hold the Inauguration Ceremony of Van Ho Fresh Fruit and Herbal Processing Factory. The factory is an important highlight in the TH journey to bring farmers along a closed production chain, starting from raw materials, working with farmers under the forest canopy, building a green economy, knowledge economy. promoting the precious genetic resources of indigenous plants to produce products entirely from nature, for public health, and develop sustainable agriculture in Son La and the Northwest.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Ms. Tong Thi Phong – Member of the Politburo, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Phan Dinh Trac, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Mr. Phan Xuan Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment; Mr. Thao Xuan Sung, Member of Party Central Committee, Chairman of Vietnam Farmers Association; Mr. Dieu K’Ré, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee; Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong – Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee and leaders of ministries, departments, central and local branches.

Started construction in January 2018, Van Ho herbal and fresh fruit processing factory will go into production phase 1 (2020-2025) with a processing capacity of 300 tons of vegetables, fruits and herbs; investment is 1,200 billion VND, solving 15,000 hectares of raw material areas. Phase 2 (after 2025), the whole Project increases the investment to 3,500 billion VND, handling more than 35,000 hectares of raw materials. In the immediate future, the factory will focus on processing fruits such as: longan, guava, mango, oranges, passion fruit, apple cat … and produce all natural and safe fruit and vegetable juices.

In order to ensure the production of fruit juices with intact natural nutrients and friendly with the environment, Van Ho Fresh Fruit and Herbal Processing Factory marked its mark with special highlights of technology. – Leader in agricultural product processing industry:

This is a factory using fully automatic extraction technology and HPP high pressure processing technology. In which, HPP high-pressure processing is one of the most modern technologies in the world today. With this technique, products will be processed by high pressure in a suitable short time without using heat, helping to retain the most color, delicious taste and nutritional value of vegetables, tubers, Fresh fruit while ensuring food safety and hygiene. Because of high equipment investment costs, businesses applying this technology in Vietnam in particular and in Asia in general are still very small.

This is the first factory in Vietnam to process orange, concentrated longan, on the world’s leading modern line. The factory was installed by the German General Contractor Rieckermann and used equipment manufactured by the Italian Bertuzzi Company. Bertuzzi’s line is the latest generation line, fruit processing with high synchronization and automation from automatic fruit washing, peeling, extraction to concentration and packaging. This line also applies the latest and most modern technologies, which can be expanded and integrated to be able to process many other fruits such as apple cat, passion fruit, mango, guava, pomelo … In which, The factory also chooses its main product, orange processing, concentrated longan – the first factory in Vietnam to process this product line for B2B distribution.

For more than 2 months, with the efforts and close coordination between the experts of Rieckermann (Germany), Bertuzzi (Italy) and the leaders of Van Ho Clean Food Processing Joint Stock Company, despite many difficulties because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the production line was installed and tested successfully. The test product has achieved good results according to the standards from the first test production batch. German and Italian experts affirmed, with a very short implementation time, this was one of the successful projects from the very beginning.

This plant has a high rate of juice recovery (up to 80%), saves fuel (energy optimization, saves electricity) and is a model of the circular economy. Plant wastes are crushed fruit residues, which are led out of the factory to the pulp warehouse by a closed screw. Here the residue will be dried as fertilizer, fuel or food for seafood. This process is completely closed, protecting the environment.

On the market side, according to the global 2022 forecast of “Fruit & Vegetable Processing Market”, the global market for processed fruits and vegetables will reach USD 346 billion, this growth rate cumulative (CAGR) is about 7% / year since 2017. That shows that world consumers have been very interested in natural fruit drinks. Along with the general trend in the world, Vietnamese consumers have paid attention to choosing soft drinks of natural origin, rich in vitamins and minerals. TH Group’s investment in processing fruit and completely natural fruit drinks will help consumers have more choices of using healthy products, ensuring healthy nutrition.

With the advice of Bac A Commercial Bank, the factory aims to sustainably develop, bringing farmers into a closed production chain that TH is the leading enterprise. From the orientation of linking farmers through cooperatives, building a production chain, TH Group will guide cultivation and preliminary processing techniques. In this model, the Cooperative will act as a link in the product value chain, making production plans, standards, technical regulations as well as product quality requirements.

Son La province has 72,000 hectares of total fruit and apple tree acreage, 3 times higher than that in 2015, and is the second largest fruit tree area in the country. The province has also built up 90 safe fruit supply chains, 161 codes of growing areas of 4,300 hectares of fruit trees to be exported to China, the US, Australia … However, land resources and potential for developing fruit trees still very large. According to the assessment of the People’s Committee of Son La province, when the factory goes into operation, it will have great pervasiveness to promote business communities, cooperatives and households in agricultural production and business associated with processing; At the same time, the factory is the nucleus to build more specialty fruit growing areas, bringing the fruit brand name of Son La province further.

Regarding the planning of material areas, TH Group plans to cooperate with farmers in key fruit growing areas in Son La such as districts of Song Ma, Mai Son, Yen Chau; Van Ho district (where the factory is located); famous orange-growing areas in districts of Phu Yen, Yen Chau, Moc Chau and expanding to Cao Phong, Tan Lac (Hoa Binh); Van Hoi (Tran Yen, Yen Bai). The project also accompanies farmers to promote the combination of planting fruit trees and medicinal herbs to develop tourism in the local regions, doing economic under the forest canopy.

In phase 1, the factory will create jobs for nearly 200 employees working directly at the factory, tens of thousands of workers indirectly in Son La province and neighboring provinces. Not only economic development, the pioneering appearance of a large and prestigious enterprise such as TH Group in a district of 30A, upland and difficult areas of Son La, will attract more businesses to invest and contribute. part of the sustainable implementation of the Party’s and State’s national policies, raising the level of the economy in the border areas, protecting the national borders.

Also in Van Ho district, TH Group is continuing to implement the Son La Vegetable, Fruit, Vegetable and Medicinal Development Project. The project intends to plant specialty fruit trees and medicinal herbs with an investment scale of 1,100 billion VND, creating a source of raw materials on an area of ​​more than 1,000 hectares.

TH Group is operating many production and business projects in a number of fields. One of the outstanding projects of TH Group is the project “High technology application of dairy cows and milk processing”, producing clean fresh milk with TH true MILK brand. In Nghe An, TH Group has developed the FVF Clean Vegetable Project, the Pharmaceutical Project – the production of herbal beverages. The model of developing herbs and medicinal herbs under the forest canopy to contribute to the preservation of precious genetic resources was continuously investigated by TH in Son La, Ha Giang and a few other provinces.
